Thailand, here we are and lots of other stuff to catch up on...

Here is a little run down of some things we were able to do before we left. We decided Gretta might like to try some rice cereal as she was so interested in us when we were eating, she ate well and LOVED it!

We made it to the State Fair before leaving for Thailand and Gretta got her first tattoo....it matches her Uncle Seth!

We also had Angelie and Jeff in town for a week from Colorado, they were here for Joel and Meghan’s wedding. We visited the beach with them and it was finally a warm enough day that Gretta had her first lake experience, she seemed to enjoy that, splashed herself and even tried to eat some sand of course.

Our last activity before we left was Joel and Meghan’s wedding, which was our last one of the year! It was so fun and everything turned out perfectly beautiful! Congratulations little brother and new sister-in-law!

We made it to Thailand and everything is going well so far! We decided to try out a new place to stay so we’ll see how it goes. Gretta was pretty great on the plane considering we were flying and in airports for 27 hours.

On our first day in Thailand here she is showing off her skills in the gymnastics field and showing the smile that has been making everyone love her over here! Pretty sure there is no chance that she will be a shy one, she will probably only grow more into her social butterfly personality while we're here!

Winding down....

Good thing we didn't take the GPS literally and go into the lake, which is where it would have taken us!

Gretta at the helm for the first time, think she likes being in control!?

Family picture at the cabin.

All dressed up and ready to party, see she's even dancing....

At Briana and Andy's wedding

We are on the brink of our last wedding of the summer! Joel and Meghan will say "I do" next Saturday the 30th and they are the cherry on top of what we would like to say is a huge ice cream sundae of weddings! :)

We are also on the brink of going back to Thailand, we head out on September 1st for the other side of the world! Although it will be sad to leave everyone for these next few months and Gretta will surely grow fast while we're gone, we will enjoy getting to slow down life a little while living over there. These last few weeks have, of course, been flying by. We were up north for Josh's family reunion last week and we also had Jess's cousin Briana's wedding to Andy which was a beautiful event, congratulations to you two!

Time will surely continue to fly as we lead up to us leaving. There will be a lot to pack and lot of goodbyes to be said! So we might be a little behind on the blog for a week or two. Although that is kind of the way its been all summer anyway!

We're not the only ones a little tired after all this activity!

4 months old and summer's almost over

Where did the summer go? Can't believe it's already August. We had 4 weddings in a row so we now only have 2 of our 7 weddings left. No offense to all our friends and family getting married this summer because they really have all been beautiful weddings and we've had a lot of fun going to and being a part of them, but we are ready for a little break! Our next one isn't for a couple weeks, but we'll be keeping busy with other things for sure. This past weekend we had was our friends Sara and Brian's wedding here in town and everything turned out gorgeous, thanks for letting us be a part of your day!

She loves her fingers and hands

And she gets tired of having a camera in her face.....

CONGRATS to Sara and Brian!

First timers....

We took our first family trip and Gretta's first flight. She did a great job by sleeping most of the time. I think having to be at the airport by 4:00 a.m. helped! We flew into Bangor, ME and bummed around Acadia Nat'l Park. Then drove down to Holyoke, MA for Josh's cousin Kate's wedding to Nat. It was a very fun trip, but went way too fast and there was not enough time to check out all we wanted to on the east coast, so we will definitely have to check it out again sometime!

It was also her first time in a pool!

Modeling her adorable swimsuit from Cousin Laura.

Ready for Kate and Nat's wedding!

LOBSTER! Of course we enjoyed all the fresh seafood. We tried lobster rolls, lobster boiled, lobster ravioli, shrimp, crab cakes, scallops and had many bowls of clam "chowda" DELISH!

No time to talk!

We had Abby and Nick's wedding (CONGRATULATIONS!!!) this past weekend and we are headed out to the east coast for Josh's cousin Kate's wedding this coming weekend so there is just no time to talk right now! However, we'll post a few pictures to keep you from wondering if we're still here!

The many faces of Gretta

Seriously guys, could you take any more pictures??

Happy Anniversary to Us!

We celebrated our 2 year anniversary today and in honor of the video that wouldn't work at our wedding we thought we'd post it....maybe it will work now?? :) Its fun to look at and see our baby/kid pictures and compare them to Gretta now. We have to say she is definitely our child!

2 down and 5 to go....

WEDDINGS! So far we've been to 2 of our 7 weddings this summer. We have been a little busy the last couple of weeks starting with the 4th of July we picked Jess's brother and his wife Angelie up at the airport. They had their own activities for the day so we went to Josh's family friends' annual 4th event.

Happy 4th of July!

Gretta turned 3 months old on July 5th.

Then on the 6th we had Gretta's baptism.
Here we are with the Grandparents at baptism. Grandpa Fred baptized Gretta on July 6.

Her godparents are Jess's brother Joel and Josh's sister Molly.

We then headed up to Jess's parents cabin for a few days which was a lot of fun having all the siblings in one place to relax for a few days.

We came back and started the weekend with Thursday going to a shower for Molly, rehearsal and groom's dinner for her and Elden's wedding and then Jess scooted out to go to a baby shower for Angelie. Friday was Molly and Elden's wedding day! It was a gorgeous day and the ceremony was beautiful. During the reception there was some excitement with tornado warnings and we were all sent to enclosed rooms, but it didn't last long and we were happily able to celebrate for the rest of the night! Saturday we had a brunch and gift opening and then dinner with all of Josh's dad's family who were all in town for the wedding.

Congratulations Molly and Elden!

A lot can happen in a week!

Josh was gone in Houston this week and it actually really flew by, Grandma Peg came down, we went over to my friend Abby's and went to her dress fitting, helped Meghan and Joel with invites for their wedding and visited my Aunt Julie, Uncle Nate and their 3 girls (my youngest cousins).

Grandma Peg is spoiling already.....she was watching All My Children and Gretta got hooked! She is pretty fascinated by TV and computers, we think its all the colors and flashing lights. We really aren't going to make this a habit though!

I got my first night "off" from parenting and went to my friend Sara's bachelorette party and Josh took Gretta to her first Twins game with Uncle Seth and his girlfriend Kim.

Seth, Kim and Gretta

Aunt Molly and soon-to-be Uncle Elden got to meet Gretta for the first time at the airport. They are finally home from Taiwan and are getting married in less than 2 weeks!

We went out to lunch at Macaroni Grille (also happens to be where Josh and I had our first date!) This is the first time Josh and his siblings have been together at the same time in almost 2 years (since our wedding!) That is what happens when we all live in different countries I guess! Gretta was sleeping peacefully in her carseat while we ate, therefore she missed picture time.
