Margaret River

Our travels took us to the edge of Australia this past weekend, Margaret River to be exact.

Photobucket
And this little Margaret did some exploring!

Photobucket
I think both girls deserve a badge in spelunking, cave diving, adventures in caving.....whatever you'd like to call it, they did a great job!

Photobucket
The first cave we went to was self-guided and unlit, hence the helmets and flashlights!

Then we headed down to Cape Leeuwin to see the lighthouse

And 2 oceans at once!

The next day we stopped at a beach before heading to Lake Cave and

Photobucket
Luckily it was rainy on and off most of the weekend because we saw what started out as this little guy.....

Photobucket
That turned into a full rainbow, but those things are super fast!!
Photobucket
I was trying to get up higher to get a picture of the FULL ARC RAINBOW, but alas...it was not to be captured on my camera. We all got to see the WHOLE thing though and it was AWESOME! No unicorns or leprechauns were noticed anywhere in the vicinity.

Photobucket
Then we went to Lake Cave which was lit and guided and has the only "Suspended Table" in the world, (that you're allowed to see) the only other one is in France and isn't open to visitors.

The “table” is a massive column of calcite weighing in excess of five tons that seems to hang precariously from the ceiling, defying gravity and hovering just a few feet above the lake.

Thanks Australia for a BEAUTIFUL visit, it was another fun adventure to check off our list! We head home this weekend and have to say we've missed California!

Pinnacles

Photobucket
Adventuring outside the city we traveled two hours or so north to the Pinnacles Desert Area in Leinster last Wednesday! Josh had the day off for Anzac Day, which is like their Memorial Day here.

For the Birds

This weekend we roamed around the suburbs again, heading up to Hillarys Boat Harbor area and I've been getting some time to just take pictures of things, so this is kind of a "photography" filled post!
Photobucket
There are a lot of exotic (to us anyway) birds that just hang around the park. There are also crows too, but they make the most horrendous sound. SO much worse then the CAW CAW we are used to.

Photobucket
I don't know what most of the birds are, but they are fun to take pictures of!

We got some dhufish at the fish market and it was soooo good! They feed on lobster and crab so taste a bit like that. Little expensive, but had to try it! Josh had been raving about it!

As you can tell, Maggie really wanted her picture taken this day.
