Road trip: Part 1

On our road trip to Utah, we made it to Las Vegas the first night.

The girls stayed entertained by napping, coloring, puzzles and books on CD. Their other form of entertainment was saying "I'm still hungry" and asking "When are we going to be there?" Torsten mostly slept and only fussed when we were about to stop, as if he knew it was time! All in all though, they all did a fantastic job!!

Stopped by Hoover Dam, it was a rainy, windy, cold day there. So we didn't stay too long!

Sleeping.

Stopped by this kitschy little shop on, ……yep, you guessed it, Route 66.

I don't know what it was about this guy, but he just needed to have his picture taken.

"Maggie, come here, lets read the holy bible." (and The Book of Mormon) Their favorite thing to do at hotels besides the pool and playing "friend" on the phones.

to be continued…..

Happy Thanksgiving!

Since the girls have Thanksgiving week off from school we decided a road trip was in order, so currently we're in Utah! So far we've seen the sites of Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park and many other gorgeous scenes on our way here. Tomorrow we will meet up with Jeff and Petra driving over from Colorado and enjoy some time in Moab. We're excited to get to see some family for Thanksgiving! Here are some photos I already had uploaded from before we left, and as usual when we get back and I go through the 7.31 million photos I'll be sure to post more! We hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Tea anyone?

Gretta taught herself to tie her shoes!

As usual, we have ever so much to be thankful for. Continued good health, this trip and all the trips we've taken in the past year together, we've really seen some amazing sites! Without a doubt our 3 fabulous children and each other.  Last but not least, all our family and friends, we miss you!

Torsten, 7 months

Here he is! As mentioned, he is everywhere. Climbing, standing, crawling, stair mastering, tackling. He definitely loves eating his fruits and veggies and gets quite vocal when he doesn't get fed when he wants to be! We've had a few tumbles as he likes to climb the step stool in the kitchen and the stairs in the living room, but overall nothing too crazy. He sure doesn't sit still though and we can tell he wants to keep up with his sisters!

OMG.

I'm 7 Months!

His silly face.

Mammoth Lakes, Mono Lake and Bodie

We went to Mammoth Lakes, Mono Lake and a ghost town called Bodie a weekend ago…..I took SO many pictures!!! It was a glorious trip! Weather was great, we got to see some snow, we did some hiking, enjoyed fantastic food. The scenery was amazing and we had so much fun! Anyway, I had to make a video otherwise you'd be scrolling for days. The ghost town was really cool, an old gold mining town just completely abandoned in the 1940s. The general store was still stocked, the school looked like kids had just left for the day, houses still had furniture and stuff. The girls loved looking in all the windows at stuff.  Alright, hope you enjoy!

BOO!

Happy Halloween! Anyway, here was our Halloween day (which was quite the production at school), night and a couple days before at the neighborhood Halloween party!

Baby pumpkin feet! Torsten's First Hallloween!

Each class paraded around the playground lot, the kindergartners had buddies.

The marching band was out and everything! Crazy, and lots of fun!

Frankenstein

Ladybug

Rapunzel

Trick or Treat!

They went outside and knocked at our door a few times before we did the real thing!

It was a lovely evening and the weather was great! Hope you all had a fun time and a great weekend!

Fire Chief, Princess and Smiles.

Firstly, we carved some pumpkins about a week ago and I hardly took any pictures.

But its ok, because they're already rotten and had to be thrown out. Maybe we'll do a couple more before Halloween. Never had this problem in MN! Guessing its mostly due to the fact that it was 80 degrees almost every day last week! LOVE the fall here!

Gretta had a visit from the fire department at school and brought home this hat. Torsten got to pose in it quite a bit.....

We think he's ready for a calendar shoot. Ha!

In other news, along with crawling with intention, he is now crawling everywhere which, YES, includes getting up these two steps that go down into our living room. Oh, and he is now pulling himself up on furniture and I found him standing in his crib the other morning. Literally overnight this boy is learning new skills and at a slightly younger age than either of the girls. Its official. We've got our hands full. Hoping to catch a video soon.....but seems like he will only do it when I'm in the kitchen and he'll crawl up here to find me!

Some days you just want to feel like a princess.
